Strange thing about Golfo (Spanish for rascal) is that he the first puppy I have ever seen been born. As a child I saw plenty rabbits born, as an adult I saw plenty kittens, but it's taken till now to see a puppy born.
I was happy when he was rehomed at 4 weeks, but less happy when word filtered back that his new owners couldn't cope due to work committments etc, so I agreed to take him back.
Every day there is a 'present' on the floor. More than one normally.Yuk!
But hey he's a BABY; he doesn't know yet.
So we now have 4 dogs. Tanya is wee git, I know now that she has taken to shitting on the floor so we could blame Pulga, the Yorkie we took in from a Benidorm family. She is a lovely dog, but psychotic. She wants one to one attention and when that is not available, she openly flirts with my neighbours and makes us out to be the baddies. 'Oh how can anyone think the worst of Tanya, the perfect dog?'
I need to educate my partner on this too. Tanya is sweet but not the bees knees.
Having said that, Tanya (who is ours forever no matter what I say now) is a good 'childrens' dog. She doesn't bite. She's great at chasing insects. I know as a gardener insects are good, well some of them are, but she doesn't differentiate. I'm sure if Tanya were around the time our house was infiltrated with a line of ants, she'd have scattered them quicker than the insecticide I finally felt compulsed to use.
Anyway, enough of Tanya, Pulga is the Yorkie he brought home a few months ago. I liked Pulga, especially once he'd been treated with Frontline, and after I'd had to completely disinfect our bedroom to rid the house of the ticks he was hoaching with when he first arrived.
Oh but Pulga is worth MONEY. He's pedigree. Fuck that. He still costs to feed.

That leaves Shadow. She is a pedigree alsation, and very very clean. She won my immediate dedication for that alone. I'll never part with her; but on the downside my house is full of dog hair.
I had the same thing with Mac, my border collie that I brought here from Scotland. Hairs everywhere. But in Mac I had a dog who was there for me, who did as he was told, when he was told, who was spotless in the house, he was my friend for life, or so I thought.
He had a thing about jumping into any parked, or temporarily stopped car. And one day, while out walking he disappeared in a built up area. Almost certainly he jumped into a car.
I advertised his disappearance. I checked the local dog pound. But he never turned up.
Thing with Mac was, he was so clever he was bilingual....hey come on this is a dog???
Clean, bilingual, faithful, obedient. The perfect pet.
Someone else has him now and I would really appreciate his return. I reckon he must be 7 or 8 years old now.
